About This Role
You are a creative storyteller and a highly skilled video editor who thrives on shaping meaningful content. As Senior Editor: Classroom, you will bring your expertise to BibleProject’s Classroom video resources and go-to-market video assets. You will own the editing process from start to finish — partnering with our Senior Classroom Writer to craft compelling classes that make complex biblical concepts accessible, and delivering polished, engaging marketing materials that inspire our audience to engage with these resources. Your work will be focused primarily on the class creation and secondarily on go-to-market work.
Most importantly, you will bring your skills and experience to help further our mission of helping people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.
Core Responsibilities
Leadership
- Advocate for editorial best practices and set a standard of excellence in storytelling.
- Partner with writers, producers, and designers to strengthen creative impact and maintain mission focus.
- Provide constructive feedback to contractors or junior editors when needed, contributing to a culture of collaboration and growth.
Responsibilities
- Edit Classroom courses, shaping video content that balances educational clarity with narrative depth.
- Own the delivery of all go-to-market video assets (trailers, promos, social media content) that invite audiences into BibleProject’s resources.
- Manage the editorial process from pre-production to delivery, anticipating needs and ensuring on-time, high-quality outcomes.
Expertise
- Apply advanced editing skills (Final Cut Pro mastery; Adobe Premiere or Avid a plus) to create compelling, polished outputs.
- Shape clarity, tone, and pacing to ensure strong viewer engagement and learning outcomes.
- Integrate industry-standard practices in post-production, including sound design workflows and basic color correction.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Senior Editor with a strong storytelling portfolio.
- Mastery of editing software (Final Cut Pro; knowledge of Adobe Premiere or Avid preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to shape narrative and pacing while balancing educational clarity and creative depth.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; comfortable managing editorial workflows.
- Skilled collaborator with producers, directors, and creative peers.
Ability to lead through influence and provide guidance to collaborators. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give and receive feedback.
- Passion for BibleProject’s mission and a heart for helping people engage deeply with Scripture.

Location: Portland, OR preferred but remote candidates will equally be considered.

Reporting to: Cooper Peltz, Head of Production, Live Action & Audio
Compensation & Benefits:
- The hourly range for this role is $34 - $42 per hour
- Competitive wage that scales with experience directly related to this role. Top tier in non-profit market but will not match top technology companies
